Quivira Dry Creek Cuvee 1995
Varietal: Other Red Wine
Vineyard: Quivira Vineyards
Region: Sonoma County, California
Quivira's Dry Creek Cuvée is a contemporary blend with historic roots in Dry Creek Valley's oldest vineyards. The estate grown wine is similar in style to the Grenache-based Rhône wines of southern France. Four varieties, individually fermented in small lots, are purposefully combined to create a harmonious wine with immediate appeal. The 1997 Dry Creek Cuvée is a classic composition of 50% Grenache, 21% Syrah, 18% Mourvédre & and 11% Zinfandel. The 1997 Dry Creek Cuvée features perfectly ripe fruit from a richly flavored vintage. Lively cranberry/strawberry and black cherry fruit meld with French oak spice in a silky, voluptuous and boisterous mouthful. The wine has soft texture with well integrated tannins. "The Grenache gives the Cuvée a zesty, berry foundation, complemented by the other Rhône varietals and spicy French oak," comments Winemaker Grady Wann. "The 1997 Dry Creek Cuvée presents exceptional flavors and depth, characteristics of this vintage in Dry Creek Valley."
