Lancaster Estate 2001

Varietal: Bordeaux Red Blends

Vineyard: Lancaster Estate

Region: Sonoma County, California

Lancaster Estate, purchased by owner Ted Simpkins in 1995, sits on 53-acres at the southern edge of the Alexander Valley. The hillside winery is uniquely situated at the confluence of the Chalk Hill and Knights Valley appellations where the gravelly red soils are well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux grape varietals. Lancaster wines are composed of vineyard blocks that demonstrate the most brilliant expression in each vintage.

The 2001 Lancaster brims with aromas of wild berries, cassis, and violets. Ripe, black cherry and chocolate flavors, toasted oak nuances, and supple tannins combine to deliver our most balanced, full bodied wine thus far.
